Recent ActivityOn June 7th and June 17th our kindergarten class will have the experience of participating in an in house field trip. With this “in house” field trip all the events will take place in our kindergarten classroom. Barbara Reese a Northern Va. resident has spent her life working with both youth and adults. She was a substitute teacher, an award winning educational coordinator for a non-profit and a 4-H volunteer leader. She is a certified Youth Trainer for Prudential Youth Leadership Institute, a certified moderator for Public Policy Institute Issue Forums and a nationally certified CHARACTER COUNTS Trainer.
Barbara has formed her own business “Hands-On History” which uses activities, crafts and/or games to teach students about historical times or experiences. The presentations offer a mix of historical and educational information as well as an opportunity for students to actually experience the time period with hands-on activities.
We are very excited to be able to have Barbara visit our Tyler. All activities that will be presented are correlated to the Virginia History and Social Science SOLs.
